Welcome to the
Minnesota Building Permit Technicians
Association
"The goal of the Minnesota Building Permit Technicians
Association is to provide, promote, and support education,
networking, professionalism, certification, and recognition
of its membership."

Our members work closely with
homeowners, builders, building
inspectors and
officials to coordinate successful building projects.
In addition, this organization stresses education for our members in order to
further
validate our role in the building process.

Greetings!
My name is Britt Pease; I am the 2008 President of the Minnesota Building
Permit Technicians Association (MBPTA). MBPTA was established in 1997 and I am proud to say, that in
the decade since the founding, the organization has come a long way...

From The City of Hugo's
website...
On Sunday, May 25, 2008, a tornado ranked EF-3, with wind gusts of 136 to
165 miles per hour, raked a path from the eastern edge of Lino Lakes into
Hugo around 5:00 p.m., killing a two-year-old child and seriously injuring
eight people in Hugo...
Several people have
stepped forward to help in Hugo's Building Department, but with an event
as horrific as this, the permits have only just begun. Understandably, their
building department still needs help - especially if you
have PermitWorks® experience. Contact your fellow MBPTA member,
(Hugo's receptionist and building technician), Debi
Close or Hugo's building official, John
Benson.

Are
you signed up for the challenge?
We've set a goal to 'up' our ICC Certified Permit Technicians by 25%.
Currently, there are only 13 in MN and we only need 4 more to meet this
goal, but there's no reason we can't exceed it...
