Building Permit Technician Vocational Certificate (19 credits)

Purpose:

This certificate is designed to enhance the competencies of the present permit
clerks or technicians, to prepare persons for the national certification examination
as building permit technicians, and to provide certain knowledge of building code,
zoning codes, permit processes, legal aspects, customer service and standards
of building, to prepare for a career as a building permit technician.

ICC Permit Technician Exam:

Even if you haven't achieved the 19 credits necessary for your vocational permit technician certificate, you can take the ICC Permit Tech exam. It is a 2 hour, open book exam that you'll have to schedule with a Pearson VUE testing center.
